Almost 4000 cannabis plants seized in WA drugs raid

ALMOST 4000 cannabis plants have been seized as part of a WA Police investigation into a South East Asian organised crime syndicate.

The Organised Crime Squad seized 3972 cannabis plants, 50-60kg of cannabis head, a Ford Transit Van and a tractor at a rural property north of Perth on March 14.

The police raid at Bambun is believed to be one of the biggest in WA.

A spokesman for the force said: “Officers executed the Misuse of Drugs search warrant on the Sullivan Road property as part of their investigation into South East Asian organised crime syndicates and cannabis grow houses across the Perth metropolitan area.

“The investigation is ongoing,” he added.
