Princess Margaret Hospital Hosts Cricket Fundraiser

Mark DonaldsonJoondalup Times

IT will be nurses versus police this Sunday at Heathridge Park in a first-ever T20 cricket fundraiser for the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.

Bragging rights will be on the line in the mixed men’s and women’s clash, but there will be a greater purpose than victory at heart.

Consultant nurse Stewart Gill said the PMH team expected a tough challenge from the police outfit, known as the Numbats.

He said the police had a well-drilled squad, but with the nurses’ side boasting former Western Fury skipper Peta Merrilees as captain, he hoped they would be competitive.
