KINGSLEY resident Frank Pratt is among those on the Queen’s Birthday Honours List being awarded an Australian Fire Service Medal on Monday.

Mr Pratt became a fire fighter in 1951, then rose through the ranks to become a district officer and expert in fighting fires in multi-storey buildings.

He volunteers with the Department of Fire and Emergency Service’s Fleet Restoration Team, restoring vintage fire trucks back to their former glory.

He drives these vehicles to many community events each year.
