BEING waste wise has gone to another level at Marmion Primary School.

The school has launched a Recycling HQ container that has seven ‘Munchi Monsters’ labelled with what types of waste can be deposited in their mouths.

The container accepts soft plastics, aluminium cans, t-shirts, pens, bread tags and other recyclable material.

Former students Cian Jeffs (13) and Dylan Wild (12), who previously came up with the cardboard prototype in 2017 as a fun way for students to recycle or dispose of waste, joined the school to officially launch the container on Thursday.

However, thanks to a Waste Wise grant from the City of Joondalup, the container was able to be produced to a much higher standard.

Other waste wise initiatives at the school include students creating bees wax wraps for new student enrolments to promote sustainable practises.
