ROCK band Regurgitator will perform its children’s Pogogo Show at this year’s Joondalup Festival.

The irreverent trio will do silly and cheeky shows from 7pm on the Friday and Saturday during the April 3-5 festival in Central Park, Joondalup.

The multi-ARIA award-winning rock experimentalists developed the children’s music project with the 2019 release of the Pogogo Show album, which featured backing vocals and story-telling from band member Ben Ely’s daughter Dee Dee (15).

The festival opening night line-up includes Australian hip hop group, Downsyde, who formed at Craigie Senior High School in 1996 when they took part in a school talent quest.

The band went on to release five studio albums and win numerous WAMi and Australian Dance Music Awards with hits like ‘Fortune and Fame’, ‘Less Fortunate’ and ‘Clap your Hands’.

Indie Alt Rock band The Struggling Kings will play on the main stage from 2.30pm on April 4 using their indigenous roots to draw out creative blends of rock, blues and acoustic tunes that won them best indigenous band and best song for their track ‘Oceans’ at the NAIDOC Music Awards 2018.

Adrian Dzvuke, who recently played Groovin The Moo, will play on Saturday night along with Siobhan Cotchin, Dulcie and THOTSPYC.

Folk singer songwriter Felicity Groom, who also hails from WA, will kick off the Sunday session from 3pm, backed by local band The Black Black Smoke.

Other Sunday acts on the main stage include Noah Dillon and Soukouss Internationale.

The Hidden Garden Stage in Central Park south will feature local and national acts with a more relaxed vibe.

Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob said the 22nd Joondalup Festival provided an opportunity for tens of thousands of people from across Perth to again access to a range of free world-class cultural and artistic events.

“The region’s biggest family-friendly cultural event evolves and grows each year,” he said.
