ABOUT 1000 people raised more than $300,000 for Cancer Council WA by joining in the annual Relay for Life Joondalup Wanneroo this month.

The fundraising event on October 19-20 at HBF Arena in Joondalup was full of camaraderie between teams and volunteers who celebrated those who have survived cancer and remembering lives lost to the disease.

“It was an emotional scene watching the survivors and carers complete the first lap with those unable to walk being chauffeured in gold buggies,” chairwoman Pat Strahan said.
