THE WA Cancer Council’s 2015 Relay for Life Joondalup Wanneroo was held in perfect weather last weekend at Arena Joondalup, with 90 teams taking part in the 24-hour overnight event.

More than $340,000 was raised, making a total of $2,376,169 over the eight-year life of the relay.

Organising committee co-chairman Troy Pickard said this year’s relay brought together people from all walks of life determined to take up the fight against cancer and raise money for research and support programs.

“One day in the future children will line up for a jab that will protect them from the scourge of cancer,” he said. “It may take time but that is what we are all working towards.”
