LEGENDARY DJ Fatboy Slim is headed to Hillarys for what could be described as the first event of its kind at Whitfords Nodes Park.
Fresh off the back of a sold-out UK arena tour, the Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat producer, also known as Norman Cook, is hitting Australia for a run of headline shows in January and February.
Shows will include Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide before wrapping up by the beach at Whitfords Nodes Park on Sunday, February 2.
He will be joined at all shows by Belgium’s 2manydjs, aka David and Stephen Dewaele of Soulwax,, with other artists to be announced.
Zaccaria Concerts and Touring said it was “ecstatic” to announce the return of the UK “party-starting machine” who is responsible for classic hits including Praise You, Weapon Of Choice and Right Here Right Now and memorable live shows with carefully designed visuals meticulously programmed to sync up with whatever is played in the moment.
Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob confirmed the City received the event application earlier this year, which has been approved subject to conditions.
He said the concert would take place on the main park site (western area) and would not be affected by construction of the health and wellbeing hub, including the “Jacob’s Ladder of the North” fitness staircase, which will have part of the park closed until May.
While Whitfords Nodes Park has hosted several big events in the past, including the Queen’s Baton Relay celebration in 2018 with about 1500 guests, the MSWA Great Ocean Ride that annually attracts about 3000 attendees, and triathlon/duathlon events with up to 1000 attendees at each event, it is believed this concert will be the first of its kind.
The concert is earmarked to kick off at 1pm and finish about 9pm.
Tickets to the 18+ show will be on sale via Ticketmaster from October 10, with pre-sale options available earlier.
