FREEWAY and train line closures are taking place this weekend to allow construction of the Burns Beach Road bridge.
The Mitchell Freeway northbound will be closed from Shenton Avenue, including off-ramp access to Burns Beach Road, from 7pm Friday to 5am Monday so bridge beams can be lifted as part of the freeway extension project.
There will be no access on Burns Beach Road eastbound between Connolly Drive and the freeway south on-ramp and westbound between the on-ramp and Sunlander Drive.
The freeway southbound is open for traffic travelling from the east and local traffic access is allowed to and from Sunlander Drive.
Trains are also cancelled throughout the weekend between Joondalup and Butler stations, with the last full-line services leaving Perth at 10.15pm and Butler at 10.33pm Friday night.
Replacement buses will run during the closure and trains will resume running as normal on Monday.
Bus routes will be affected on Burns Beach Road between Connolly Drive and Yellowstone Way. Call Main Roads on 1800 883 402 or Transperth on 13 62 13.
