SACRED Heart College students were at Scitech last month to compete in the annual Brainstorm Challenge Days.

The competition for Perth and regional secondary school students included activities and problem-solving exercises that challenged their knowledge in science, technology, engineering and maths.

Challenges covered topics such as coding and space, with the most popular being the flight challenge.

“The students had to make a helium balloon neutrally buoyant so it didn’t sink or fly away before navigating it through a series of obstacles,” Scitech outreach presenter Shelley Turnbull said.

“It was wonderful to watch the groups work through this challenge and see so many of them really enjoying the experience.”
