Sea Scouts search for new members

MULLALOO Sea Scouts is on the hunt for new members.

Established in 1978, this is the only Sea Scouts group operating north of the river.

However, membership has declined recently with the group members outgrowing their scout section.

“We are very keen to save this group from closure,” trainee group leader Natalie Brooke said.

“We are currently recruiting cubs, scouts and parents to join as adult leaders.”

Activities include camping, biking, coast care, first aid, outdoor games, boating, cooking, badge work, bushwalking and swimming.

“As Sea Scouts, we have an emphasis on the water and the great outdoors,” Ms Brooke said.

The group meets weekly during school terms at Springfield Primary School in Kallaroo.
