Search for attacker

Officers said the victim (35) was lucky to be alive having been stabbed three times – twice in the arm and once in the thigh, narrowly missing his femoral artery.

The attack happened about 1.30am on the northern side of Whitford City in Hillarys on March 15.

“He likely would have died had it severed the artery,” Senior Sergeant Brad Burnett said.

Police are looking for a dark-skinned offender, who attempted to rob the victim before attacking him with a knife.

The victim was treated in Royal Perth Hospital.

Police want information on a white Holden Commodore and blue Hyundai that were in the area at the time.

The offender was about 175cm tall with a solid build.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
