ONE lucky West Aussie is $1.5 million richer, after taking out the division one prize in Saturday Lotto.

The ticket, bought from NewsXpress Whitford City, matched the numbers 40, 42, 16, 38, 11 and 33.

NewsXpress Whitford City owner Jim Manifis said it was the store’s second division one-winning ticket sold in the space of six months.

“On behalf of the retailers it’s great news,” Mr Manifis said.

“A lot of our customers are regulars, so I hope it has gone to one of them.

“The winners seem to be coming from the northern suburbs at the moment.”

Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said Western Australia is off to a flying start.

“We’re not even a week into the New Year and we’re already celebrating two WA millionaires,” Mr Mooney said.

“So far in 2020 our two division one tickets have been sold in the northern suburbs, so the challenge for those south of the river is now on.

“We are also still waiting to hear from two division one winners from 2019, the tickets from Balajura and a Play Online account are both worth more than $1 million.”

Lotterywest has stayed true to its dream of building a better WA, by raising money for those who need it most.
