THREE schools in the Kingsley electorate will receive funding to install shade sails in their play areas.

Greenwood, Woodvale and Hawker Park primary schools are among 42 public primary schools that will receive up to $25,000 in this year’s round of the equipment and shade area program.

The three schools will receive a receive total of $62,500.

“This funding will allow schools to build play areas as well as install outdoor shade structures,” Education Minister Sue Ellery said.

Kingsley MLA Jessica Stojkovski said local workers would do most of the construction and installation work, also creating jobs in the local community.

This is the third round of funding for the $3 million program that was announced in 2017.
