The Wandoo Singers, which started as a spin-off from Wanneroo Civic Choir, marked the occasion with a lunch in Mullaloo.

Inaugural members Peggy Rudd, Alison Major and 95-year-old Marjorie Foden were presented with life membership.

The female-only choir performs about twice per month at aged care facilities, community ceremonies and special occasions.

Mrs Major said the group, whose members’ average age is 78, had visited more than 120 different venues over the past 20 years.

“It is pretty hectic, we’re a very busy group,” she said.

“Our aim is to bring some happiness and cheer to the audience.

“Music is a marvellous tonic for audiences and the singers too.”
