FOLLOWING the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Skate Park Festival kicks off on February 3.
The series will centre around a BMX, skate and scooter competition, along with activities and entertainment including live DJ, hip hop performances, sports, amusements and the creation of a mural.
Hosted by the youth teams at the cities of Stirling and Joondalup, the free festival will start at Carine Skate Park followed by Kinross Skate Park on February 17 and Mirror Park Skate Park in Ocean Reef on March 17, with each event running from 1pm to 5pm.
The competition is open to 12 to 25-year-olds with registrations to be made from noon at the event. Competitors can enter individual events ($2.60) or all three ($7.50) to win the series trophy and all must wear a helmet.
A separate BMX-only competition will also be held at the Shepherds Bush Pump and Jump Track in Kingsley on March 3.
Registration is from 1pm with the competition running from 2pm to 5pm.
Entry is $2.60 per participant.
