THE motorbike frog was just one of the many creatures that fascinated visiting international artist Brandon Ballengee.

This one pictured at Lake Goollelal caught the attention of Weekender photographer Martin Kennealey recently when he was in Yellagonga Regional Park.

According to the WA Museum, the male motorbike frog (Litoria moorei) often calls from floating vegetation or within reed beds.

It can also call from more open areas around dams or from tree branches.

The frogs breeding season starts in early spring and extends well into summer.
