Thalanyji Inspired Living Foundation volunteer Frances Hayes said it was important for the students to see higher education was a possibility.

"The foundation is all about inspiring students to pursue education," she said.

"It is great for the kids to be able to come to a university and see what it is like and that they can do it."

Exercise and Sports Science senior lecturer Fadi Mayaah helped organise the visit as part of his Study Hard, Play Hard program that uses sport as a way to engage young people with higher education.

"It was fantastic to see how the students responded to Travis" message about the importance of education," he said.
