RESIDENTS will be fighting cruelty with cupcakes as they take part in the sweetest fundraiser of the year: Cupcake Day for RSPCA.

The MercyVille Craigie animal lovers will be rolling up their sleeves to bake, ice, sell and eat dozens of cupcakes to raise funds for RSPCA WA on August 8.

“When our residents heard about Cupcake Day, they jumped on the opportunity to combine a morning tea for friends and family while helping to raise much-needed funds,” service manager Alison Devonport said.

“The majority of our residents have owned animals in their younger years and so have been keen to help raise money for animal welfare services across the state.”

Cupcake Day for RSPCA will be held nationally on August 19 but also throughout August.
