The heavy police presence comes more than a week after they began searching for Shawn Adam Newton, who is wanted for questioning over the death of a Scarborough mother whose body was found in a car on a Mitchell Freeway on-ramp last weekend.

Police would not confirm if the heavy presence was related to the search for Mr Newton.
