Mark DonaldsonJoondalup Times

Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan will head a forum at the Joondalup Reception Centre, accompanied by Police Minister Liza Harvey and local police bosses.

Mr O’Callaghan will discuss the progress of the new policing model, implemented in December last year, as well as explaining the role of Local Policing Teams, which were created as part of the rejuvenated approach.

Joondalup Senior Sergeant Craig Wanstall said local officers would be there to address suburb-specific concerns.

“We’ll be there if there’s questions that need to be directed to the relevant officers in charge,” he said. “He’ll (Mr O’Callaghan) largely talk about the new model and where he sees that going.”

Sgt Wanstall said the forum would address only the far northern section of the North West Metropolitan District, which stretches down the coast to Cottesloe.
