Tenders keep Arena expansion on track

Acting VenuesWest chief executive Colin Brandis said this was the next step in the project, which will also upgrade existing infrastructure, including extra parking.

“The response from the construction industry to an earlier expression of interest was strong with the shortlisted respondents being very experienced and competent,” he said.

He said VenuesWest had ensured the right people were available to advise on a range of technical and infrastructure practices that had informed the planning and design processes.

In 2013, the State Government approved the $20 million expansion of Arena Joondalup by increasing its netball courts, expanding the western oval for little athletics and rugby union and building new homes for the West Perth Football Club and the Wanneroo Basketball Association.
