THE Bike Doctor will perform check-ups in Burns Beach this Sunday.

With funding from the Department of Transport and WestCycle, the City of Joondalup will host free bike checks at Burns Beach Park from 8am to noon as part of Bike Week, which runs from March 16 to 25.

The Bike Doctor is a qualified safety mechanic who can assess the health of bikes of all shapes and sizes, including condition assessments, minor servicing and bike advice.

Check-ups usually take five to 10 minutes and no bookings are needed.

“Bike Week is all about celebrating the fun, adventure and challenge of bike riding in WA,” Mayor Albert Jacob said.

“Cycling is now seen as both a leisure activity and an alternative mode of transport and the City has a vision through its Bike Plan to be recognised as a bike-friendly city.

“We urge everyone to come down and get their bikes checked by the Bike Doctor for peace of mind on the road.”
