THE sounds of funk and soul are headed to Kinross in the new year.
The first of the City of Joondalup’s free Music in the Park concerts will feature Cheap Fakes and The Isolites at Falkland Park on Saturday, January 12.
The Isolites – complete with horns and a rhythm section – will deliver the upbeat and happy sounds of Jamaica and the Caribbean from the 1960s, while Brisbane’s Cheap Fakes’ set list will be peppered with a mix of soul and brass -fuelled pop, funk and ska tunes.

“The locations and musical acts may have changed over the years, but this free-family-friendly festival of music remains as popular now as ever,” he said.
Guests can bring a picnic or buy food on the night.
Children’s activities run from 5pm with the concert from 6pm to 8.30pm.
