THE Lucky Charm in Joondalup has lived up to its name with another winning division one Lotto ticket.

A husband and wife from the Wheatbelt came forward on Monday to claim their Saturday Lotto prize of $573,863, won on a Slikpik 18 game sold at the Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City outlet.

While the couple said they were regular Saturday Lotto players with an online membership account, this one was bought “on a whim”.

“We’ve always felt that you’ve got to be in it to win it,” the wife said.

“I’ve always thought that I’m pretty unlucky but now I think I’m the luckiest person alive.”

The wife, who is a full-time foster child carer, said she and her husband had been looking at houses to be closer to their children’s northern suburbs school.

“We’ve been looking for a while and this way we can be mortgage-free,” she said.

“We’d also like to donate something to the kids’ school to help in some way.”

The Lucky Charm owner Spiros Scafidas said it was always a momentous occasion to share in other people’s joy.

“It’s life changing and we all get very excited,” he said.

A second Saturday Lotto division one winning ticket was also sold at Marmion Post and Newsagency, with the winners yet to come forward.

The winning numbers for Saturday Lotto were 23, 8, 27, 7, 33, 24 and the supplementary numbers were 41 and 15.

The two wins come before this weekend’s Superdraw Saturday, which will see the weekly division one prize bumped from an estimated $4 million, to a guaranteed $20 million.
