FOR two decades, Ray Mancini has sported a goatee. It has become his trademark look.
But last month, the Joondalup businessman decided to shave it off in a bid to raise $10,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation.
“I knew that if I was going to achieve our goal, I’d have to do something special that would really encourage people to put in that bit extra,” he said. “I was somewhat nervous about the whole thing, if the truth be told, but at the same time, I thought about the sacrifices made by people fighting blood cancers and their families every day across WA.
“Looked at through that lens, it wasn’t such a difficult choice.”
The SIG Group chief executive said he was overwhelmed by the support he had received to exceed his target and raise $15,000.
