NEARLY 100 Japanese students mingled with pupils from an Edgewater school this month as part of an annual visit.
The 91 students from Fukui in Japan spent the day at Mater Dei College, immersing themselves in Australian culture and language.
The trip is an annual event between the sister schools. Visitors enjoyed a tour of the school and sampled foods including Vegemite and lamingtons.
Japanese teacher Rosanne Jacobs said it was a great experience for all students.
“The students were only in Perth for three days so that they spend one of those days interacting with our students is such a great opportunity for both groups,” she said.
A group of Mater Dei College students will visit the Japanese school in April.
