POLICE found a badly injured dog while visiting a Heathridge home on an unrelated matter last week.

Officers have charged a 31-year-old man with cruelty to animals and trespass.

Police Media spokeswoman Susan Usher said officers attended the property about 4pm on August 10.

“It will be alleged officers located a dog in the backyard that was bleeding from several lacerations,” she said.

“Officers conveyed the dog to a veterinarian for treatment.”

She said RSPCA officers later removed several other animals from the property. He is due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on September 2.
