WA Police charge youths over Currambine Primary School vandalism

THE alleged culprits of yesterday’s ransacking at Currambine Primary School are two high-school age boys.

Police have charged the alleged offenders, aged 14 and 15, with aggravated burglary and criminal damage.

Officers attended the Ambassador Drive grounds after an alarm went off about 3.15am.

The youths are accused of throwing paint throughout a classroom, an outside play area and a toilet.

They are further accused of slashing chair coverings, cutting the wires to electrical devices and stuffing toilets with classroom items.

Police also discovered a burning tyre in a sandpit.

The boys are due to appear in Joondalup Children’s Court on February 21.
