WA Police lay charges over ram raid spree in Perth’s north

POLICE have laid more than 50 charges over a series of ram raids and ATM thefts on local shopping centres dating back to July.

Investigators have charged three men and are speaking with a fourth.

Officers allege the men used stolen cars and trailers to crash through shopping centre facades before stealing ATMS and burning the getaway vehicles in nearby suburbs.

They also allegedly set fire to trailers and ATMS after they had removed cash.

Charges relate to incidents at outlets in Hocking (July), Gwelup (July), Greenwood (August), Edgewater (October) and Ocean Reef (November).

A Greenwood man (36) was charged with more than 20 offences including four counts of aggravated burglary, four counts of criminal damage by fire and two counts of criminal damage.

A Clarkson man (33) and Aveley man (31) were each charged with 15 offences including three counts of aggravated burglary and three counts of criminal damage by fire.

Police are speaking with a Beldon man (31).
