WA Police search for Daniel McCartney heads to Burns Beach

POLICE are now searching areas off Burns Beach in the search for a man last seen in Fremantle on Monday.

Police Media spokeswoman Susan Usher said police air wing was conducting sweeps of the ocean, coastline and dune area north of the Burns Beach Café in the search for Daniel McCartney (40).

Officers and SES personnel were scouring inland from the coast in the same area.

Mr McCartney’s friends reported him missing on Tuesday.

He was dropped off to his car at Fremantle train station in the early hours of Monday morning having been late night swimming at Fremantle Bathers Beach about 12.15am.

He has not been seen since.

His vehicle remained at Fremantle station, with his mobile phone and some clothes found nearby.

Mr McCartney was described as about 180cm tall with fair skin, brown hair, blue eyes and a slim build.
