A MADELEY scout leader and Royal Show steward from Kingsley were among 104 volunteers recognised at the WA Volunteer Service Awards this month.

Matthew Stobie-Tyack has volunteered at Scouts WA for 25 years, working with children aged 11 to 14 as a scout leader and an assistant scout leader.

He has been a scout leader at Goollelal Greenwood Scout Group since 2014, and before that worked with the children at Wembley Downs Scout Group.

Judy Hebiton started volunteering with the Royal Agricultural Society of WA (RASWA) in 1955.

She began stewarding in the cattle and sheep section and was the chief steward for trade cattle for 25 years.

She also held the role of cattle inspector for competition, along with co-ordinating the junior farmers.

The WA Volunteer Service Awards recognise people who have provided 25 or more years of service to one organisation.
