WEST Perth generated $25,000 in revenue last weekend ahead of a tribute to one of its legends at its next home game.

The Falcons tribute to their 2018 AFL Hall of Fame inductee Mel Whinnen will double as a fundraiser.

“We are just finishing plans for a Mel Whinnen Hall of Fame tribute luncheon at our last home game on August 11, which we will be promoting as our Fighting Falcons home game,” president Scott Ballem said after expressing confidence the Falcons could return to a healthier bottom line.

“We may also have a major sponsor for that day.

“We are also putting the finishing touches on a major fundraising luncheon at the end of August that will be hosted by (No. 1 ticket holder and AFL commentator) Basil Zempilas.”

Administrator Korda Mentha started at the club last week ahead of a club creditors meeting this Friday.

West Perth has made a ‘call to arms’ video to encourage donations along with a GoFundMe page.
