TWO Warwick Senior High School students have been chosen from thousands of Australian applicants to attend a national science forum in January.
Year 11 students Adi Bambang and April Htun will be among 30 WA students participating in the National Youth Science Forum at the Australian National University in Canberra.
The 12-day program aims to inspire young Australians to pursue studies and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Adi, of Darch, and Marangaroo’s April, were nominated by a rotary club then took part in a selection process based on academic achievement, social and communication skills and other interests.
“It’s going to be great to extend my knowledge of science and meet students with similar science interests as my own,” Adi said.
April said she was looking forward to the experience.
‘‘I’ve heard that we will have the opportunity to visit laboratories and facilities of some of Australia’s leading scientific institutions,’’ she said.
‘‘That will be pretty fun.’’
