West Coast Wilderness Group hosting free barbecue at Mullaloo Beach

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

NATURE lovers are invited to attend the newly formed West Coast Wilderness Group’s inaugural community event at Mullaloo Beach this Saturday.

The free family-friendly barbecue at the park south of the surf club will be held from 11am to 1pm.

“If you love nature and care deeply about the environment, we’d love you to join us for a free barbecue, fun games for the kids, and some useful info about the new three-bin system for everyone who’s keen to reduce their waste,” group social media coordinator Jo Baker said.

“There’ll also be the opportunity to have your say on the environmental issues impacting on the natural places we all share and love in the cities of Joondalup and Wanneroo – from our coast and waterways, to our leafy suburbs, wetlands, bushlands and forests.”

Ms Baker said while the environmental concerns of the group shares were wide ranging, it aimed to protect, promote and restore the local natural places that support life, and to support the larger state and national campaigns addressing urgent issues, from banning fracking to addressing climate change and deforestation.
