A GREENWOOD school is hosting an “old school fete” to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Past students, staff and families of West Greenwood Primary School, as well as the public, are encouraged to be part of the fete on October 28.

Organiser Nerissa Cope-Allen said there would be a variety of handmade items, cake and book stalls, raffles with great prizes, rides, a sideshow alley, petting zoo and lots of food stalls.

“I really do think it’s going to be the sort of fete you went to as a kid and it was just the best day ever,” she said.

“(It gives) people the chance to come back to the school and celebrate with us.”

The school will also hold a public assembly on October 26 from 1.45pm, featuring students performing a song written for the occasion, burying of a time capsule and school memorabilia and photos on display.

The fete runs at the school on Coolibah Drive, Greenwood on October 28 from 11am to 3pm.
