Whitford City upgrade on track to open in late 2017

THE first stage of the Whitford City shopping centre redevelopment is on track to open late this year.

The $80 million redevelopment includes a new casual dining and entertainment precinct with an eight-screen Event Cinemas complex featuring two Vmax, two gold class and four general cinemas and 10 restaurants in the transformed piazza.

The upgrade is part of Scentre Group’s $1 billion investment in WA, with Whitford City the first of three Westfield centre developments to open. Others are Carousel and Innaloo.

Last month, it was also announced that Whitford City would soon get a David Jones department store as part of the redevelopment.
