AFL action returns to Joondalup this pre-season.

The 2019 JLT Community Series will see Fremantle take on Collingwood at HBF Arena at 3.40pm on the public holiday Monday, March 4.

The 18-game series aims to bring live AFL closer to the fans by visiting communities all over Australia.

Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob said the City was pleased to once again host pre-season AFL football, broadcast to a national audience on Fox Footy.

He said HBF Arena was an “outstanding facility for matches like this” with “very positive” feedback from clubs that had played at the venue and “crowds turning out in big numbers to witness the games”.

“We look forward to welcoming the Dockers to Joondalup, and I’m sure they will enjoy their trip up the freeway having tasted victory in two of their three previous matches at HBF Arena, including a 10-goal win over eventual premiers West Coast in March 2018,” Mr Jacob said.

“It will also be great to see Collingwood making their first appearance in the capital of Perth’s north, fresh off a stunning 2018 season which saw them fall just short of a memorable grand final victory.”

The pre-season series will also hit Leederville Oval on March 1 for a game between West Coast and Geelong at 4.10pm, before the Dockers and Eagles face off in their first derby for the year at Rushton Park in Mandurah at 4.10pm on Sunday, March 10.
