A TEAM of seven swimmers from Craigie-based Breakers Swim Club are competing in a national open water event this weekend.
The swimmers, ranging in age from 14 to 24, will head to Adelaide for the Australian Open Water Swimming Championships.
Coach Ralph McManis said competitors would be vying for selection in the national team.
“After months of training, these swimmers have achieved national qualifying times and will push for national medals at this weekend’s championships, where the best in the country will be competing,” he said.
Bobby Jovanovich will act as coach at the event, replacing McManis due to illness.
