Luke Mitchell was the round winner. He took an early lead in race one, but Clarke was hot on his tail and by the time the field headed in to lap two, he was the new race leader.
By lap six, the front three riders – Clarke, Mitchell and Callum Spriggs – began to bunch up but a crash saw Spriggs leave the race opening up third place to Troy Guenther then Chris Quinn.
However, a last attempt for the race lead on the final lap paid off for Mitchell who won ahead of Clarke and Quinn.
Mitchell and Clarke started the second race in close contention before Quinn went down, forcing the race to be restarted.
