Bulldogs pose big challenge

Bill MonaghanJoondalup Times

In the end, we had a few more petrol tickets left to outdo them in the last quarter.

It was great to see Rohan Kerr get through the game without any back complaints.

He did enough to suggest he'll see the season out.

Spots in the side are highly competitive, so players realise they need to perform at their best from week to week.

We face South Fremantle at Fremantle Oval on Saturday, no easy task with the Bulldogs still gunning for finals.

They are coming off matches against strong sides, where they've been more than competitive, but haven't won.

They play a contested brand of football so we need to make sure we maintain the high level of performance.

We expect to get Nick Rodda (shoulder) and Kris Shannon (lower back) back for the clash, but do no expect Laine Rasmussen (hamstring) to return before the finals. Co-captain Luke Tedesco will play a second week in the reserves as he returns from a calf injury.

Off-field, the club has received a lot of press lately regarding our broadcasting issues for the finals.

While it has no effect on our performance, we've made sure we've kept the players updated as best as we can.

They have been reminded that what the media prints is not always true.

We'll just let it play out again and Im sure it will get sorted.

We'd all love them to be on television, but we're not so we deal with that.
