City backs the Wolves

Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard said the City was proud to continue its support of the Joondalup Wolves and the Wanneroo Basketball Association.

“With more than 2000 members, the Joondalup Wolves and the WBA play an important role in the social and sporting development of the local community,” he said.

“We are proud of the presence they have in Joondalup, training and playing in our City, recruiting members from throughout the northern corridor and enjoying great success on and off the court.

“Having chalked up three grand final appearances in the last five years and two championship wins for the men, along with a championship in 2013 and successive semi-final appearances for the women, there is little doubt that Joondalup Wolves are the dominant force in the SBL competition.”

Joondalup Wolves CEO Cameron Britt said the extension of the partnership was “significant endorsement” for the association.

“As the reigning men’s SBL champions, and with a strong and experienced women’s team roster, the 2016 Joondalup Wolves will again be pushing for championship glory,” he said.

“I encourage all our fans to cheer on the Wolves.”
