Exhilirating day of sailing

Fortunately racing was completed in a sou-wester of 10 to 20 knots which provided some exhilarating sailing and close calls on the short course.

Yachts beating upwind threaded their way through yachts charging downwind with colourful spinnakers flying out in front.

Despite having the fastest yacht – Leda sailed by Frank Centa – the ORSSC had to lower their colours to HYC who filled most of the first three places in the three races of both divisions.

The pennant winners for HYC in division one were Sally Malay, Bad Habits, Perle, and Hard Evidence while Ian Campbell in Missing Linck picked up a second and a fourth for ORSSC.

In division two Farrouk, Xtreme and Volant, took away most pennants for HYC with Dolken salvaging a third placing for ORSSC.
