Gulls continue to soar after derby win

Staff WriterJoondalup Times

The Gulls resurgence has them inside the top four with a handy four points and eight goal difference advantage.

To add to the Jacks woes in their losing northern derby, they lost key player Charlie Comyn-Platt to a groin strain at half-time and conceded an own goal late in the game at ECU Joondalup Football Stadium,

The contest had been tied 1-1 heading into the second half.

Sorrento coach Jamie Harnwell substituted Scott Bulloch and Ryan Pearson just after the 60th minute, with an eye on the side's FFA Cup clash against the A-League's Sydney FC in two weeks.
