Jacks back in winner’s circle

Heading into round 18, the Jacks had not won since round 5, but triumphed 3-1 in a morale booster over Armadale at Alfred Skeet Reserve.

The Jacks controlled the game after the first 20 minutes, with Harry Bissett scoring the sides first at the 28-minute mark.

ECU put the game beyond Armadales reach inside an hour, scoring its final two goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Armadale scored its only goal three minutes into time-on.

ECU coach Dale McCulloch was buoyed by the sides first win in three months.

Theres a lot of emotions right now they were up for it from Tuesday (training) and its all credit to them, they’ve been brilliant, he told nplwa.com.au.

At Percy Doyle Reserve, Sorrento had a frustrating 2-1 loss to league leaders Bayswater after two own goals in the second half.

The Gulls Ryan Pearson equalised in the 71st minute, but a second own goal from a free kick deflection off Steve McDonald won it for the visitors 11 minutes later.

Sorrento faces Balcatta on Saturday, while ECU challenges Stirling.
