JOONDALUP Kinross Cricket Club has been recognised for its contribution to the community.

The club has been named a finalist for Community Club of the Year in RAC’s Sports Star Awards for creating a fun, safe and inclusive community.

The nomination recognises the club for leading the way in making cricket a sport for all, becoming the first WA cricket club to create a pathway for cricketers with a disability.

Last year it also launched The Blast Champs for children with a disability fully integrated into mainstream cricket programs.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony at Optus Stadium on February 7.
