Kingsley Park lights up for footy night match

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

KINGSLEY Park was lit up on Saturday night with the launch of its improved sports floodlighting.

The City of Joondalup recently upgraded the floodlights to meet Australian standards for all codes of football, allowing for clubs to fixture matches at night and to provide a safer environment for training.

Kingsley amateur and junior football clubs hosted a community celebration to coincide with the launch of the lights, which featured an A-grade Perth Football League match between Kingsley and Kingsway.

Funding for the lights included a $126,500 Community Sport and Recreation Facilities Fund grant from the State Government and $200,000 from the Federal Government.

The lights will also benefit the Kingsley junior and senior cricket clubs with better lighting over the cricket training nets.
