THE Australian Surf Life Saving Championships are on at Scarborough beach this week.

Max Wannell sent us these photos of Mullaloo Surf Life Saving Club member Kay Smith with her gold medal for the female 65-69 years 1km beach run and Neil Forbes and Mark Hopper who in “very choppy conditions” were “happy to finish the double ski race in the men’s 50-54 age group”.

Smith has also won silver in the beach sprint and bronze in the beach flags, surf race and board race, as well as joining Tracey Bartlett and Jennifer Orme to win silver in the 55-59 female board rescue.
