THE North Coast series of races over the summer between Hillarys Yacht Club and rival Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club concluded on Sunday.
Hillarys took a narrow lead into the day and with very little wind it looked as though that’s where the result stood.
The start team patiently waited for the fluky, light southerly to fill in and after three attempts racing was underway.

READ NOWIn race one, pennant winners were Hard Evidence, Quicksilver, Sheer Magic and Volant from Hillarys whilst for Ocean Reef it was Leda and Hot Gossip however their depth in the fleet gave Ocean Reef a two point win.
In race two, again Hard Evidence picked up a place as did Blue Chip and Catabatic for Hillarys.
The etchells Leda and Stump Jumper excelled in the light conditions and together with Feelin Free gave Ocean Reef a nine point win.
The narrow lead of Hillarys at the start of the final day’s racing was reduced however they were still victorious by 628 to 635, thus regaining the trophy Ocean Reef won in the 2016-17 season.
The top yacht in division one was Hard Evidence (Des Riley and Marshall Fox) while in division two it was Catabatic (Rob Bills).
