THE fixtures couldn’t have been scheduled any better for ECU Joondalup’s push to finish in the top four in National Premier Leagues WA soccer.

The fifth-placed team is just three points and a nine-goal difference shy offourth-placed Bayswater City and, as it happens, the two teams meet this Saturday at Frank Drago Reserve.

Victory for the Jacks will move them equal with City on points, but behind on goal difference unless they achieve the unlikely feat of a five-goal win.

The side kept its Top Four Cup dream alive with a 1-0 win over Perth Glory last weekend.

Valuable Scottish import Gordon Smith knocked home a late penalty to seal the win at ECU Football Stadium.

The Jacks jump from sixth into fifth was aided by seventh-placed Sorrento, whose 3-0 defeat of fifth-positioned Stirling allowed ECU to leapfrog the Lions.

The Gulls face Armadale on Saturday.
